Vamp «st. mandag» (2008)

With Vamp sales exceeding 600 000 albums and the group having earned five Norwegian Grammies, the Prøysen-award and a long list of platinum-, double platinum- and tripple platinum awards, it’s no wonder we have high expectations for the upcoming release of Vamp’s 11th album “st. mandag” (“st. monday”).

Øyvind Staveland, Torbjørn Økland and Carl Øyvind Apeland have been part of it all since the beginning in 1991, and they form the core of the band.

For this release, they are joined by the brand-new lead vocalist Paul Hansen (27), Odin Staveland (22) who plays keyboards, drums and percussions as well as contributing with the songwriting, and on loan from KORK (The Norwegian Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra) Birger Mistereggen on percussion, drums and Jew’s harp.

The first singel ”Velkommen inn” has been played steadily on major radiostations during the summer and the second single ”På bredden” was released to radio early this fall and is already climbing the radio carts. Both songs are composed by the youngest member of the band - Odin Staveland.

Paul Hansen’s singning brings even more tenderness to the ballads than before, while also giving more sting to the uptempo rock songs.
